If you have had unprotected (or even protected) sex and think you might be pregnant, we are your best first step.
A missed period is often the first sign of pregnancy. Other early pregnancy symptoms include tender or swollen breasts, fatigue, a need to urinate frequently, food cravings or aversions, and nausea.
Assure Women’s Center can provide you with on-site pregnancy testing services at no cost to you. To get started, book an appointment or contact our center.
When Is The Best Time To Take A Pregnancy Test?
Some pregnancy tests are most accurate when taken between 21 and 24 days after the first day of your last period. We believe it is best to wait until after you have missed a period before taking a pregnancy test.
The most effective time to take a pregnancy test is when you are two weeks late for your period. That’s when pregnancy tests are 90% accurate.
How Does A Pregnancy Test Work?
A pregnancy test detects the hormone hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin), found in pregnant women’s urine. If hCG is not detected, it’s too early to test, or you aren’t pregnant.
One of our compassionate staff members will administer the test and discuss your results with you immediately following.
If I Am Pregnant, What Should I Do Next?
If you are sexually active, you might be at risk for an STD/STI. If left untreated, this type of infection can cause serious harm to you and your pregnancy. If you qualify after a positive pregnancy test, we offer STD testing services for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea.
We also have a list of referrals for any other testing you might need.
Additionally, we will provide information on all your options and answer questions on abortion, adoption, and parenting. If you test positive for pregnancy at our clinic, we can also perform an ultrasound on-site at no cost.
